CWA 79th convention News

CWA's 79th convention was held in St. Louis, Missouri, this past July, and our local leadership was in attendance. In an historic election, Claude Cummings Jr. was elected as president of CWA by delegates and Ameenah Salaam was elected Secretary-Treasurer. Cummings is the first Black man elected as CWA President and Salaam, who was elected by acclamation, is the first Black woman to serve as Secretary-Treasurer. CWA national leadership also announced several contract wins, gave inspiring speeches surrounding current issues, and voted as a body of delegates to pass a number of resolutions and amendments to the CWA’s constitution.
